Our History

Four Decades of Shaping Futures

Founded in 1982 by the Franciscan Clarist Congregation (FCC) Sisters, St. Alphonsamma English Medium School was established with a singular vision — to provide quality Catholic education to the children of Kerala, irrespective of background or community.

From humble beginnings in a modest building, the school has grown into a prestigious institution with modern infrastructure, serving over 2,500 students across Kindergarten to Higher Secondary level.

1982
School Founded

Established by FCC Sisters with just 3 classrooms and 120 students in Primary section.

1992
High School Expansion

Secondary classes added. First Board examination batch achieves 100% pass rate.

2005
Higher Secondary & Smart Labs

Higher Secondary Science stream introduced. Computer and Science labs upgraded.

2018
Smart Classroom Revolution

All classrooms equipped with interactive smart boards and digital learning tools.

2024
State Award for Excellence

Received the State Best School Award for academic excellence and value education.

Blessed Alphonsa of the Immaculate Conception

"Suffering borne with joy is the surest path to holiness."

Anna Muttathupadathu (1910–1946), known in religion as Alphonsa of the Immaculate Conception, was a Franciscan Clarist nun from Bharananganam, Kerala. She was the first person from India to be canonized as a saint by the Roman Catholic Church (2008), and the first canonized woman of Indian origin.

Her life was marked by extraordinary suffering that she bore with remarkable faith and joy. Her spirituality — humble, simple, and wholly surrendered to God — continues to inspire our school's ethos of combining deep faith with genuine service to others.

The Franciscan Clarist Congregation (FCC) is a religious congregation of women founded in 1888 in Kerala. Inspired by the spiritualities of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Clare of Assisi, the FCC Sisters are committed to education, healthcare, and social service.
